Elevator Pitch No. 1

This is a post for an assignment where I am to do an elevator pitch of approximately one minute and thirty seconds. My pitch ended at one minute and fifteen seconds. Below is the transcription of the audio from the video which you can find here. I realize I say "and" too much; feel free to roast me in the comments. I recorded this off the top of my head and it took me about 20 takes. Thanks for watching and reading.

Hi, my name is Cameron Hellstrom, inventor of the Quickstick - the Quickstick is like a memory stick for your phone. Now I know that you might say there a lot of memory sticks out there, but this one is different. This one will be compatible with iPhone and Android. You will be able to transfer files from phone to phone, phone to computer, and computer to phone. And you will be able to do it in style; with a lot of different colors and styles the Quickstick will be right for you. And it also comes in a lot of different sizes. Quickstick can be used to back-up files as well, so we have large storage options so you can back-up your phone, computer, whatever device you'd like. And it will also have small storage options in case you just want to transfer files to family and friends, your a student and need to upload files to the computer, nothing huge, it's there for you. Now we also have customer service and technical support 24 hours a day in case anything happens to go wrong, but that's very unlikely because Quickstick comes with security. It comes with an encryption and you will be able to choose your own passcode so nobody is getting in but you. We'll see you in the future. Once again I'm Cameron Hellstrom with Quickstick.

  1. I think you did a great job with your presentation! I also tend to say “and” a lot, which I did in my presentation. I think one way you could improve this pitch is to explain in the beginning a bit more exactly what the device is before saying that you realize the invention already exists. You could maybe change the order so say that first, then the encryption part, then say you know it exists, but explain why it is different. Good job!

  2. Cameron, great job on your presentation. It came out very clean and professional. I didn't realize how difficult it is to do this until doing my pitch, but your really came out neat. Additionally, I have ran out of memory on my phone and it know first hand that it can be frustrating to reluctantly delete photos messages and memories from your phone because there are no memory expansion options for the iPhone. Also dig the name! My only question is, where would you plug it in? Good job and good luck with the rest of the class!

  3. Cameron, your presentation was great, well done. If I could recommend one way to improve this elevator pitch would be elaborating a bit more on what your innovation is. I recommend this because individuals may dismiss the idea once they realize that it already exists. I think that the innovation itself is really cool and could be very useful in the future. Overall, well done.

  4. Camaron,

you did an awesome job with your presentation. It was very professional and smooth. Also, I think the app is good and it is necessary because it is good to be able to share all your files comfortably within all your devices.

  5. Hey Cameron, first of all I think you have a great introduction and I like how you describe the product as it would be in its final state, but I would like to know how your innovation is different than existing ones and how you think you will stand out in the market. You need something unique that customers can identify with. Great job overall and can’t wait to see how this progresses.
